As an Organic Chemist in our growing R&D team, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and testing new molecules that power our next generation of products.
The Role
- Design and run organic synthesis and reaction development to create new compounds for real-world applications.
- Build and optimise synthetic routes to improve yield, efficiency, and scalability.
- Characterise compounds using tools such as NMR, HPLC, IR, mass spectrometry, and optical spectroscopy.
- Work closely with scientists and product teams to move ideas from concept to prototype.
- Analyse data, draw conclusions, and communicate findings clearly to the team.
- Author clear technical documentation and SOPs to support reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
- Troubleshoot synthesis, purification, and characterisation challenges as they arise.
- Keep up with new research and bring fresh ideas into ongoing projects.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of research/industrial experience in organic synthesis and wet lab work.
- Strong practical skills in organic synthesis and purification techniques.
- Experience developing and applying analytical methods (NMR, IR, HPLC, LC-MS) for reaction monitoring and compound characterisation.
- Solid understanding of reaction mechanisms and structure elucidation.
- A problem-solver who enjoys experimenting, learning fast, and building things from scratch.
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications or patent contributions is a plus.
